Engineering services

Senior engineering, scoped and signed.

1722 does hands-on engineering across software, hardware and infrastructure — one senior engineer, one method: understand the problem, engineer the answer on the systems you run, and hand you deliverables you own.

Delivered directly by the principal engineer — the person who scopes the work does it. The source, designs and IP are yours.

01

Software & Systems Engineering

Configuration, integration and automation of the platforms you run, plus the connective software — APIs, pipelines, embedded and control code — that ties systems together.

02

Software Testing & QA

Test engineering and QA, automated and manual — strategy, automation frameworks, CI, regression, and performance and load testing. So what ships works.

One commercial model

You buy expertise and time.

Every line is priced the same honest way — for the engineering, against a written statement of work.

  • Day rate

A senior engineer for defined days — reviews, advisory, hands-on work with a clear boundary.

  • Time & materials

Open-scope engineering where the shape emerges as we go, billed for the hours actually worked.

  • Retainer

Reserved senior capacity — escalation, review and roadmap steering across a period.

  • Fixed-scope package

A bounded engagement — an assessment, a design, a commissioning — with a fixed scope, deliverables and price.

No published price list. No fixed monthly subscription. Scope and price are set after a short discovery call.

FAQ

Services, answered.

What do you actually sell?

Senior engineering expertise and time. You buy judgement and hours to solve a defined problem — configuration, integration, commissioning, design, architecture — scoped to a written statement of work, with named deliverables you own. Not a product, and not a fixed build handed over.

How do the four service lines fit together?

They share one engineer and one method. Warehouse systems, electronics and embedded, infrastructure architecture, and OEM hardware are distinct disciplines, but they meet constantly — controls need electronics, warehouses need infrastructure, OEM kit needs commissioning. You engage a line, or the point where several of them cross.

Do you build software or websites?

That is a different job and a different kind of firm — a build delivered to a brief. 1722 sells engineering time applied to systems you already run. If what you need is a ground-up software or web build, we will say so on the discovery call.

Do you offer managed services or ongoing support?

No. Our infrastructure work is advisory and design only, and warehouse work is staged project engineering with a defined end. We do not run environments, staff a helpdesk, or hold uptime SLAs. Optional follow-on support exists, but it is never the lead offer and never a lock-in.

What does vendor-neutral mean for the recommendations I get?

We sell no platform, hardware or licences and take no vendor commissions, so there is nothing to steer you toward. The recommendation follows your problem and your existing systems — impartially.

How is a scope and price set?

After a short discovery call. We scope the work, name the deliverables and acceptance, and price it as day-rate, time-and-materials, retainer, or a fixed-scope package. We do not publish a price list or sell fixed monthly subscriptions.
